Dallas Has it ALL – Boutique Hotels
Friday, March 9th, 2012
Some travelers have the philosophy that hotel rooms exist just for sleeping. And at tradeshows and conferences, often times there’s very little of that. But other travelers, be it for business or pleasure, prefer their every trip to be an enjoyable getaway – and that starts and ends with accommodations. While our friends at UFPA have provided perfectly convenient and comfortable hotel options for the United Fresh event, we want to recommend our favorite “independent inns” in the Big D, as well (just in case you find yourself in a “no room at the inn” situation). These snazzy and unique spots are guaranteed to wine and dine you and then rock you to a restful slumber – whether at United Fresh or on your next visit to Dallas.
The Joule – a crown jewel of downtown’s revitalization, this refurbed-to-fab hotel features gorgeous rooms complemented by equally breathtaking views, an infinity pool that hangs precariously over Main Street, and more than its share of swank.
Hotel ZaZa – Just outside downtown is the bustling scene of Uptown and this boutique-y hotel is in the middle of it all. Steps away from McKinney Avenue and its dependable designated driver, the McKinney Avenue Trolley, ZaZa is the trendy jetsetter of Big D hotels – kinda like GaGa with zzzzzzzz’s. Get it?
The Adolphus – though built by a beer baron (Adolphus Busch), this historic hotel is definitely “champagne chic.” And even just a few blocks from the convention center, you’ll feel miles (and a full century) away!
The Stoneleigh – this landmark hotel, also located in Uptown, exemplifies old-Dallas glamour. And the perfect “yang” to the Stoneleigh’s highbrow “yin” is the sloppily delicious burger right across the street at Stoneleigh P.

Hotel Belmont – while this retro hotel isn’t in downtown, the patio at its bar, Bar Belmont, DOES provide the best view of the city’s colorful skyline. The award-winning, on-site restaurant Smoke offers one of the best breakfasts in Texas, and The Belmont is also adjacent to the Bishop Arts District so you’ll have lots of options for food & fun.
