Shaken, Not Stirred

.

Anyone who knows DMA is aware we’re passionate about fresh produce. We’ve also been known to enjoy a cocktail (or two). That said we’re excited to share a blend of two things we immensely enjoy.

When it comes to bringing together fresh produce and alcohol, the sky is the limit. You don’t need to wait until summertime to enjoy this fresh adventure.

Try out one of these fabulous creations, courtesy of Sly Cosmopoulos, a mixologist with the Republic National Distributing Company.

Have a favorite recipe of your own? Share it here, we’d love to toast to your creative cocktail!

Tamarind Pineapple Delight
The combination of the fresh ground cinnamon with the fresh pineapple is phenomenal. This is as close as you can get to bottling a Hawaiian sunset.

Ingredients:
2 oz Svedka vodka
1 oz simple syrup
.5 oz lime juice
3 oz Jumex tamarind nectar
2 pieces pineapple 1”x1”
Sprinkle of cinnamon

Method: Muddle, shake over ice, pour into glass
Garnish: Cinnamon sprinkle
Glass: Zombie tall glass

Habanero Lime Paloma
Combining Habanero and grapefruit may seem like an odd combination, but this drink delivers a delicious tart/heat flavor.

Ingredients:
2 oz El Jimador Silver tequila
1 oz simple syrup
.5 oz lime juice
2 pieces ruby red grapefruit
1 sliver Habanero pepper

Method: Muddle, shake over ice, pour into glass, top with Fresca, stir
Garnish: Lime wedge
Glass: Pint glass

Hibiscus Sangria
This goes great with a variety of appetizers.

1 oz Gran Centenario Rosangel
1.5 oz hibiscus juice
½ lemon cut into pieces
.5 oz simple syrup
8 blueberries
Top off with M&R Sparkling Rose

Method: Muddle, shake over ice, top with Sparkling Rose, stir
Glass: Bola glass

Raspberry Lavender Heat

Ingredients:
2 oz ABSOLUT vodka
1 oz simple syrup
1 oz lime juice
5 raspberries
2 slivers red chile

Method: Shake over ice, strain into glass
Glass: Martini

Blood Orange Sidecar

Ingredients:
1.5 oz REMY V.S.O.P. cognac
.5 oz Cointreau
1 oz blood orange juice
Squeeze of lemon juice
.25 oz simple syrup

Method: Shake over ice, strain into glass
Glass: Martini

Yuzu Caipirinha
This could easily replace the margarita as my drink of choice with Mexican food.

Ingredients:
2 oz Bacardi Silver rum
1.5 oz Yuzu Luxe sour
1 oz simple syrup
.5 oz Monin Vanilla syrup
1 Lime cut into pieces

Method: Muddle, shake over ice, pour into glass
Garnish: Mint sprig
Glass: Short Collins

It’s About Thyme Martini

1.5 oz ABSOLUT Vodka
1 oz Monin White Peach syrup
.5 oz lemon juice
1 oz Chardonnay
1 sprig thyme – break into pieces, drop into shaker

Method: Shake over ice, strain into glass
Glass: Martini
