With so many outstanding exhibits of excellence, we feel that what happened in Vegas SHOULDN’T stay in Vegas! We were blown away by booths, bites, brochures and a beauxcoup of brilliance and wouldn’t feel right keeping them to ourselves. Congratulations are in order for those companies and individuals who brought their “A” game and elevated the United Fresh experience to excellent. As an industry we raised nearly $4.8 million dollars in capital campaign support for PMA’s Foundation for Industry Talent (PMA FIT) in three short years, all while overcoming a spinach crisis, a tomato crisis, an unprecedented surge in fuel prices and a severe economic downturn. We’ve proven to ourselves and those around us that we believe in PMA FIT’s efforts to recruit and retain talented individuals who will one day be our companies’ leaders. I don’t know about you, but I feel blessed to work in an industry that is investing in, supporting, and working for the advancement of its PEOPLE. What does it take to make the transition from the former to the latter? This is the start to Jim Collin’s book, Good to Great. While Dan’l read this gem several years ago, some of us at DMA Solutions picked it up this year, and after reading that first sentence, we were hooked.
