I was lounging in my comfort zone, watching the Tostito’s Fiesta Bowl, cheering on my close-to-local team, the TCU Horned Frogs. Nope, that unfortunately wasn’t a BCS playoff game, but we won’t get into that debate in this post. We’re just happy to see the “little guys” get some national respect. Anyway, got off track, sorry. As it turns out, throughout the year, in addition to a little humor and style, our most popular posts in The Core were consistently about you, our readers.  When we wrote about “What Blew Us Away” following big tradeshow events in July and October, you visited in droves, commented to us via The Core, and emailed to give us your thoughts and praises.  We love the engagement!  Keep it coming in 2010! Fresh Summit: What Were They Thinking?

Maybe there wasn’t an infamous “wardrobe malfunction” (although those awful baseball uniforms worn by someone’s “booth babes” might have qualified), and there certainly wasn’t a flop the likes of “Ishtar” or “Howard the Duck.” However, there were a few instances at PMA Fresh Summit that left our team thinking, “What were they thinking?”

From sponsor disrespect to missed opportunities, we witnessed it all. Marketing mishaps – or massacres – can happen to the best of us. Yes, even DMA. We can all learn a lesson or two from our own blunders and those of others. (more…)
